Unsurprisingly, adidas and Parley have teamed up yet again for another Ultra Boost collection which has been designed to raise awareness of one of the more pressing things that’s affecting our oceans; coral bleaching. Featuring the Ultra Boost 3.0, the Ultra Boost uncaged and the women’s exclusive Ultra Boost X, this footwear capsule sees the sneakers land in a different colourway to the previous collection that dropped.
Coral bleaching is the inspiration behind the colourway with all three sneakers coming in a light blue but it highlights the ongoing crisis that is currently threatening the world’s oceans. On top of raising awareness, all three Ultra Boost models make use of 11 recycles plastic bottles on the Primeknit upper and the webbing on the heel cups too.
Finally, all three sneakers come equipped with an NFC chip, which allows consumers to learn more about the partnership between the brand with the three stripes and Parley, as well as highlighting the Parley A.I.R. strategy which is “avoiding” plastic use, “intercepting” plastic waste and “redesigning” the plastic material.
The Parley For The Oceans x adidas Boost Running collection will launch through adidas on June 8th in-store and online. What do you think of the third in the line from the adidas and Parley partnership? Will you be trying to cop? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
